The competitive position of Intel as the leading manufacturer of processor chips faces potential threats that could cause a decline in the firms’ performance. The rapid shift from desktops to mobile computing threatens Intel’s performance since it is yet to establish its presence in the mobile industry. The firm is facing stiff competition from AMD and ARM which have the potential to capture a significant portion of the market share with their enhanced processors for desktops and PCs.
