Hornets Venom GT win The Turn tournament

Hornets Venom GT finished off their first ever tournament title by sweeping the semifinals as well as the finals of The Turn in the NBA 2K League on 2K22 MT Saturday. The Hornets opened their finals match against Blazer5 Gaming with a 76-65 win thanks to a 21-11 burst during the fourth quarter. The Hornets then took a reverse way in the final contest, going up 19-9 in the opening quarter to lead to a 67-59 win.

Craig \"rigby\", Burnett Jr. completed the opening game with 31 points and nine assists. He also shot 11-18 from the 3-point line as well as 8 of 12 from the 3-point line. Peter \"PeteBeBallin\" Malin collected the team\'s highest score of 24 points with 13 rebounds, and Justin \"Sherm\" Sherman added 11 assists and 12 points for the Hornets.

Matthew \"Bash\" Robles finished with 15 points and 15 assists for Blazer5 and Marquis \"Randomz\" Gill and Dayvon \"GOOFY757\" Curry scored 16 points apiece. In the second game, Sherm finished with 20 points, followed by ribgy with 18 and PeteBeBallin scored 13. Rashann \"Scretty\" Petty scored 22 points to lead Blazer5 in the second game, then Bash with 14 points and GOOFY757 scored 10 points with 15 rebound.

Heat Check Gaming was defeated by the Hornets by winning 81-47 and 75-63. Blazer5 made it to the finals after beating Wizards District Gaming 72-67 and Cheap MT 2K22 74-67. Rigby was awarded MVP for his 24.5 points per game in the finals and semifinals. He also scored 25.5 points in all nine games that the tournament.
