Paper insulation material: Eco-friendly option for insulation

Cellulose insulation is made from recycled newspaper and cardboards and has high percentage of recycled papers. For making cellulose, firstly papers are cut into small pieces and then fiberized, which can be used as paper insulation material, in walls and cavities. Most commonly used insulation in homes is loose-fill cellulose insulation, and there another type of cellulose which is designed in such a way that it can be blown onto open walls. This second type of cellulose is added with moisture into spray and due to it cellulose sticks to the wall, but, loose-fill insulation is dry.

Paper Insulation tapes are obtained by slitting electrical grade insulating paper on slitting machine. These tapes are used for covering aluminum and copper wires and strips used in oil coated distribution and power transformers and in current transformers. These tapes are available in different widths. Electrical insulation paper provides good cushioning, puncture resistance and toughness. Characteristics of paper insulation tapes are these are available with aggressive rubber resin adhesive, it is conformable. It can operate up to temperature of 1050C and available as flat black or crepe paper, with different thicknesses. These insulating tapes help to improve electrical efficiency and reduce waste.

Paper insulation in construction makes use of waste papers to make bricks. In this method, paper waste is converted into aggregate and then combines with Portland cement binder. Bricks made by this process allow less heat transfer and can be beneficial. Insulation is required in electrical systems also to avoid getting electrical shocks. Paper electrical insulation tapes are used for such applications and make use of cellulose, because, pure cellulose has excellent electrical properties. Cellulose is a good dielectric and has a dielectric constant greater than one. In high voltage technology, paper was the first insulating material used because insulation paper made from cellulose has excellent mechanical strength, oil absorption and electrical resistance, and are used in transformers and motors. Insulating paper is manufactured by soaking paper in oil and then drying it. Excessive drying can cause formation of cracksduring processing whereas inadequate drying can result in insulation problems.

About us:- Paper electrical insulation has applications for automotive, and transportation, mechatronics, motors and inverters. In addition, it is used in batteries, components, semiconductors, home appliances and telecom. Apart from this, paper insulation can be used in materials, chemical, food testing and pharmaceuticals, and construction and medical fields.
