Tau Beta Omega Jazz Scholarship Brunch in Marina Del Rey

It was in late 1990’s when a small group of 29 active as well as inactive Alpha Kappa Alphaassociates assembled at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Shopping Centre which is located in Los Angeles to discuss on the possibility of creating a fresh sorority chapter. After a thorough discussion on its various advantages & disadvantages this group of passionate, devoted and dedicated ladies together createdthe Marina Del Rey Pebbles Interest Group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority which was initially under the leadership of A.MableLapesarde and thus, met all the necessary requirements within 7months of initial meeting.

Well, it was later on April 27, 1991 when Tau Beta Omega was actually chartered. You would be surprise to know that initially the chartering included of a gracefulceremony which was essentially led by Billie J. Barrett (who is the Far Western Regional Director) at the Marina Hotel in Marina Del Rey. It was later followed by a magnificent luncheon attended by associates, friends & family.It was during 1^st year that the members of this group collectively came together in fellowship at various fundraisers and activities. It was later that this community service activities were extended and it mostly comprised of a women’s shelter in South Central Los Angeles, the annual Science Fair at Flournoy Elementary School, graduate students in Los Angeles and financial & in-kind contributions to The Sunshine Mission.

Surprisingly, one of the utmost benefits of their chapter is its size since each person is a valued individual & hence, all contributions are indisputably appreciated. They are also committed to continue the legacy of exemplary service. They are even thrilled with the various future opportunities to make a notable difference in their community. Since, it’s been 25 years thereforejoin in the celebration of Tau Beta Omega Jazz Scholarship Brunch which will be held on April 30, 2016 i.e. Saturday from 11:00am onwards at Marina del Rey Hotel which is located at 13534 Bali Way, Marina Del Rey in California.
