Tips For Choosing The Best Swimming Bags for Lap Swimers

In order to find the best swimming bags for lap swimmers you need to consider the type of activities you will be doing. Are you using your new bag as a practice/practice set or are you going to use it to compete at a swimming event? Different types of events require different kinds of bags, so make sure that you choose one that fits your needs before you go shopping. Here are some things that you might want to consider:

Water resistance: Swimming is often performed in relatively shallow water. Therefore, the water resistance of the bag you choose has to be high. If you choose a bag with low water resistance, the drag on your body will be noticeable during your race. This drag can make it difficult to keep your arms and legs underwater. If you do get dragged underwater, this will negatively impact your performance. Therefore, look for a high water resistant rating.

Clearance rate: You may also want to check the clearance rate of the bags you are considering. The clearance rate is the percentage of the volume of water that the bag can cover during a swim. A very good swimmer should have no problem clearing water on their first try. However, you will probably have a better time if you can get a few attempts under water before you feel the drag.

Padding thickness: Swimming bags now come in different textures. When you are wearing a wetsuit, you want a good grip. However, when you are just trying to swim normally, you do not need as much padding as you would when you are wearing a wetsuit. Therefore, look for bags that have less padding in comparison to the amount of padding inside the wetsuit. You do not want to find out that you are swimming in frustrating conditions and then have to deal with the padding.

Lap wrist support: You may want to check the wrist support of the swim bladder. Check for any rips, tears or bends in the fabric. Also, make sure the straps are well constructed and will stay on your wrists even if they get wet. You don\'t want to have them pull down on your arms while in the water.

Padding size: Finally, you will want to think about the size of the swim bladder. If you plan to swim many lengths in a day, a large bladder will be best. However, for recreational swimming only, a small bladder will be sufficient. This way, you can save water and not have to carry a heavy bladder around when you are swimming fast. Consider these factors the next time you go shopping for swim wear.
