Seeking the Ideal Source of Furniture in Boulder

Paradise Lost . . . I Mean Found

Mostly unknown to the rest of the world, the people of Denver, Colorado, are fond of referring to Boulder, one of its northern neighbors, as the Republic of Boulder, as though it were a celestial body from another galaxy where Steven Hawkings rules as a benevolent Pharaoh from a nearby black hole. That’s a subcultural exaggeration, of course, but Boulder is a unique place with progressive values that are sometimes misunderstood. The truth is that Boulder is one of the more popular places to live in the U.S., and life there is certainly peaceful. One of Boulder’s prominent characteristics is its thirst for healthy practices and consumables, and the list is long, but let’s stick with the ones that are more grounded: hiking, biking, jogging, dancing, Pilates, Tai Chi, Yoga, meditation, nutrition and a wide variety of eco-friendly products and practices. The last item on the list will be the focus of this article.

Green practices are expanding among businesses in Boulder and will continue to do so as the world wakes up to the planetary changes in climate patterns, among other challenges. There is a strong element of self-reliance in Boulder that would inspire Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson to dance along the edge of Walden Pond. At any rate, many businesses, big and small, emphasize a variety of Green https://www.haikudesigns.com/e1-info.htm practices, such as recycling, conservation of energy, minimizing the use of disposables, and the use of solar energy and/or wind energy. On the home-front, a growing number of Boulder residents are applying these same methods. In addition, homeowners are weatherizing and/or insulating their homes, cultivating organic gardens and producing compost to feed these gardens; in fact, Permaculture—a relatively new and quite efficient form of gardening—has taken root as well.

Eco-friendly products are also a major emphasis with businesses and their patrons in Boulder. You find stores that sell carpets made from glass bottles or paints, stains and sealants made from natural ingredients. You can buy clothing as well food made from hemp and visit homes made from straw-bale. In the northern mountains of Colorado, the mountain pine beetle has killed a countless number of lodge-pole pine trees, and yet this ‘tragedy’ has launched a new line of beautiful lumber, which has many applications, such siding, flooring and furniture. Regarding furniture, Boulder is also known for the easy availability of eco-friendly furniture, such as dining-room sets and bed-room sets made from solid woods such as walnut, cherry, and bamboo. As an informal footnote, bamboo is which is one of the most renewable and sustainable natural resources on the planet. https://www.haikudesigns.com/
