Your Ebay Business Can Make The Most Of The 2022 January Sales –

Posted by Liz Seyi on November 30th, 2021

For many millions of people around the world, eBay is a godsend – whether they are looking to purchase items that might not be available anywhere else at the same price, or using the online shopping marketplace as a platform for their own ecommerce business.

If, however, you are among those in the latter category who have been purchasing from our range ofshredded kraft tissue for gifts this Christmas season, it is also important to be prepared for the slightly different buyer habits and circumstances of January.

Yes, even in the age of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and seemingly all-year-round ‘sales’, cut-price deals in January are still a ‘thing’! But any eBay business still needs to tap into January’s potential for healthy profits – so let’s take you through a few tips.

Prioritise the sales of items customers tend to buy in January

Of course, any product could conceivably sell at any time of year – but there are still certain categories of items that tend to be in particular demand on eBay every January.

Winter clothing and accessories – such as hats, gloves and scarves – is one such category that is a little more obvious. It’s also a time of year when many people purchase sports and fitness equipment after a season of festive overindulgence, although it’s worth bearing in mind that the winter conditions will lead to people spending a lot of time relaxing indoors during January as well.

That means you can expect the likes of books, video games and even bedding sets – for those cosy early nights – to be sought-after, too.

Be generous with your returns policy

Let’s face it – January is a time when many of us make purchases in the sales that we go on to regret. Similarly, many eBay sellers can be guilty of selling items during this season that, as mere leftovers from their Christmas stock, might not live up to the expectations buyers should reasonably have.

eBay does offer a Money Back Guarantee for items that don’t match the listing, or that are faulty, damaged or don’t arrive. But outside of this, you are free as an eBay seller to set your own returns policy.

And with that in mind, is there much point in being stingy with your returns policy this January? A 60-day returns policy, for instance, is unlikely to lead to many more returns than a 30-day one, given that most regretful buyers would have probably returned their item long before even 30 days are up. But it could help bolster your sales by giving your customers greater confidence in purchasing from you.

Repurpose and replenish your shredded paper

One of the great things about using shredded paper for your packaging needs as an eBay business – rather than alternatives like bubble wrap or tissue paper – is that it is highly versatile. So even if you stocked up on a bit too much shredded paper from our Christmas range this year, it can still be repurposed in various ways; indeed, we offer a multitude of colours and reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable options.

And of course, it’s not just the festive season when shredded kraft tissue for gifts is relevant. On any given day, it is someone’s birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. And Valentine’s Day is just around the corner on 14th February – so now is the perfect moment to get prepared by rejigging your product range, marketing and shredded paper colour mixes for such a romantic and sentimental time of year.

Whatever you intend to use our shredded paper for, we can promise you a lot of it here at Shredded-Paper.co.uk, in both straight cut and crinkle cut! Don’t forget, too, that we offer attractive wholesale discounts on orders of more than 50kg of a single colour or mix.
