The subsidized loan covers expenses related to specific treatments or mobility equipment and can also be granted to family members. The money, however, must be spent only to cover purchases dedicated to disabled civilians. The ad hoc offer of credit institutions.

It is called a barrier-free loan and is a credit facility for all people with disabilities (civil invalidity) who have to face expenses related to specific treatments or mobility equipment.

Depending on the degree of disability, they can be assigned to specific individuals or their families and, over time, the banks have developed dedicated solutions and offers. To qualify as a civilian invalid, the reduction in work capacity must be set at 33% (invalids from war, work, or service are not included among civil invalids).

The terms of loans and mortgages

The barrier-free loan is a subsidized loan that covers 100% of the costs and can be flexibly paid in installments. The loan can be given to a family member of the disabled person, but the money must be spent entirely to cover the purchases dedicated to him. Among the various subsidized purchases, there are for example sensors or automatic sliding doors, crutches, and educational software.

In addition to loans, it is possible to take out subsidized first home mortgages (law 104). Among the requisites, the family unit must be composed of at least two married parents or in certifiable cohabitation. The request allows access to the so-called \"Plafond Casa\" fund, which provides for the disbursement of the first home loan with a maximum loan of 250 thousand euros, repayable in 30 years.

Or it provides for a loan for the renovation of up to 100 thousand euros with the obligation to make the building energy efficient. In this case, the repayment of the debt can take place in 20 or 30 years. Then there is a third possibility, that is the purchase of the first house to be restored with an amount that can be financed up to 350 thousand euros. This third way provides for the granting of the loan at subsidized rates for a maximum duration of 10 years.

Who to contact

From the national disabled association to banks, there are various possibilities and channels to access these benefits. Credit institutions have created ad hoc products that can be consulted on relative sites.

Assuming simulations with one of the banks that currently grant this type of personal loan, for example, 10 thousand euros can be obtained to be repaid in 72 months, with installments of 148.38 euros each. The TAN is 2.20% and the APR is 2.56% per year. In general, with this type of loan, between 1,000 and 25 thousand euros can be obtained. The interest rate is variable and follows the trend of the 3-month Euribor. This means that the rate will be recalculated every quarter, respecting the legal parameters. The return times are decided by the applicant, who has up to a maximum of 10 years to be able to repay the bank.

The case

If the invalid is registered among protesters or bad payers, it is still possible to obtain a loan, but only by making use of the assignment of the fifth, mostly the pension. The portion of the pension that can be transferred cannot be that relating to disability. Therefore, you need to have another form of income on which to apply this financing formula.
