Important Aspects to Know of ACSR Conductors

In the recent few years, ACSR conductors can be found in wide applications mainly as overhead transmission lines. ACSR is the short form of Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced solution. The product has pure aluminum as the outer material and the inner part consists of steel. In this way, ACSR Conductors give support to various other conductors of different weights.

Composition of ACSR Conductors or Cables

ACSR Rabbit Conductor or simply ACSR conductors contains steel in it. According to that, the product has found its applications in long-distance, in searching wires, in overhead transmission lines, and various types of river crossing-related projects. Another interesting aspect of this steel-based aluminum conductor is that, one can design it with diverse tensile strengths. Because of the high diameter, one can obtain a high range of brightness with less possible effort.

How ACSR Products Benefit You

An ACSR Conductor gives many benefits in the transmission of power. These include the following-

• These conductors have a high carrying capacity while using them in transmission lines.
• Whether you choose ACSR Moose Conductor or any other similar one, you will expect to get huge relief and a long lifespan.
• One can expect to get outstanding performance by using an ACSR cable.
• You may easily separate ACSR cables or conductors by using their existing tensile strength.

Features/Properties of ACSR Cables or Conductors

ACSR Conductors come with three main properties. These are mentioned below.

Skin Effect

The skin effect is responsible to reduce the cross-sectional area whenever the current passes in a conductor. In most cases, there is an alternating current between the deep and outer areas of the skin.Skin effect usually depends on the flow of current and its frequency in the conductor with other similar properties. The reduced area of a conductor creates a barrier based on the opposite relationship between the barrier and the cross-section area. Skin effect results in low resistance in the external part of a conductor, because of which aluminum flows in the right direction.

Proximity Effect

After the AC current goes through a series of conductors, the current from each of them pushes into small areas. Engineers call this current flow as proximity effect. The effect leads to a separate magnetic field, which increases the strength of electric current flow in the conductor because of electromagnetic induction. After the supply of alternating current to a separate conductor, an alternating magnetic field is created relative to the previous field. The new magnetic field induces eddy currents in other conductors and changes the complete current distribution.

Each of these properties makes ACSR conductor the right solutions for transmission lines and other electrical projects.
