Many of the wonders of the world are architectural marvels that are deep-rooted in culture and civilization. Aspiring architects need either a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree or a diploma in architecture. The basic eligibility criterion for private architecture colleges in mp or for that matter in any other university or college in any city in India is s class XII or equivalent from a recognized board/university with a minimum of 50% marks and Mathematics as one of the primary subjects along with physics and chemistry. This is conducted in order to properly assess the attitude, values, aptitude, and knowledge of students towards this discipline.

Some of the important national level tests conducted for admission to this prestigious degree in various government and privately-owned colleges and institutes are as follows:

All India Engineering Entrance Examinations (AIEEE)

The AIEEE is an all-India level entrance examination for both engineering/architecture streams. However, it is important to note that the questions patterns and structure of both architecture and engineering streams are different.  The AIEEE pattern for B. Arch/B. Planning is divided into three sections: part 1 consists of questions from mathematics, part 2 contains questions that seek to test the aptitude of a student, and part 3 consists of engineering drawing questions. These three hours duration examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India.

NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

This test comprises of two parts:  a paper-based drawing test and a computer-based online test. Both the tests are evaluated separately. Other than these two popular tests, there are many other separate competitive entrance exams conducted privately by colleges and institutes for admission to their B.Arch. degree program. The pattern, however, is more or less the same with all seeking to gauge the aspirants drawing ability, concern for values and ethics, creative aptitude, creative attitude, logical reasoning, architectural awareness, etc.
