Reasons Why You Should Go For Annual Boiler Service

Posted by WPJ Heating on January 12th, 2022

The boiler helps in keeping your house warm and plays an important role in making your life comfortable. Although boilers come in handy mostly in winters, they can be used all year round. This, however, means that the boiler needs to be serviced annually to ensure that it is running smoothly. It is essential to clean the boiler annually so that it gives its best performance.

There are several reasons why annual boiler service is important.

  • To stay safe

Boilers burn fuel which releases a poisonous gas called carbon monoxide. This gas is odorless, tasteless, and colorless, making it hard to detect. Regular boiler service ensures safety as any damage to the boiler can be repaired at the time of service.

  • To maintain the warranty

Most boilers come with a warranty period, which could be up to 10 years. It is required to get an annual boiler service done to keep the warranty valid. During the warranty period, missing the annual service of the boiler can result in the warranty becoming void. In such a scenario, any breakage or problem with the boiler is not covered under warranty and the customer has to bear the full repair costs involved.

  • To catch the problems early

The service technician will be able to identify any repairs required and will be able to fix them before they become bigger issues. Getting a problem fixed will not only save the boiler from extensive damage but will also save extra repair costs. Ignoring smaller issues can also lead to a serious safety concerns.

  • To increase the lifespan of the boiler

As the boiler gets older, its energy efficiency goes down. The average life of a good boiler is between 10 to 15 years but a regular boiler service, at least once in 12 months, can enhance this lifespan.
