You must have probably heard of the term \"mindfulness\" by now. It is the basis for meditation and mindful eating, and it simply entails being totally present and focused on one task rather than multitasking or reacting to outside distractions. Baking requires a lot of concentration to follow the step-by-step directions, and it requires a lot of attention compared to other activities. It takes creativity, creativity, coordination, reasoning, correct measurements to make the end result amazingly good! And of course, all of the said factors combine to inspire a level of \"focused-relaxation\" that has been proved to leave a calming effect.

Repetition Has a Calming Effect - Kneading, mixing, measuring, and cake decorating are all repeated activities that can be relaxing and stress-relieving. One achieves the condition of \"flow\" that many athletes and musicians allude to when they\'re in the zone by devoting all (or at least most) of their physical and mental energies. Flow naturally and evidently improves self-esteem and self-connection, both of which are important aspects of having a high emotional capacity.

It provides a respite from the stress of the day - You will probably feel more grounded as soon as you pick up your mixer. The physical activity and sensations involved with baking may be very grounding for people who are nervous or overwhelmed, as it increases awareness of their body and being present in the moment, both of which can help to reduce stress and enhance mood. Cleaning, by the way, anyway improves your attitude!

Furthermore, artistic pursuits take us out of our thoughts and allow our minds and hearts to focus on anything other than the stress that seems to consume much of our days. These creative pursuits act as an effective distractor for people who struggle with anxious thoughts, getting the mind focused on something more productive and beneficial than ruminating thoughts and worries. According to research, creative activities even end up promoting more positive ideas and sensations, which reduce stress and boost mood.

One doesn’t feel anxious when they feel they have control over something or rather when they feel in command of something - Each recipe has a total time listed at the top. This, you must know, is a crucial aspect for both your schedule and your stress levels. Baking has a clear start and finish point that helps people feel a sense of control and purpose, both of which help stave off feelings of overwhelm and despair.

The End Result Is Delightful! (and even more delightful when you share it with your loved ones) - If a person bakes and then eats cake, cookies, breads, and brownies on a daily basis, then baking would not be considered an effective method of self-care. Because self-care is also about understanding that you need to give that love and care to people you happen to love, adore and look up to! Nutrition plays a huge role in how we feel and function, and what we eat has a direct impact on our mental health.

Baking stimulates one’s senses - The texture of the flour, the sound of the blender, and, of course, the delicious aroma of the finished product all stimulate the senses, resulting in an increase in feel-good endorphins.

Nourishing activities are rewarding - Baking, like any other type of culinary or food preparation, is all about feeding ourselves and others. Make an effort to focus your entire awareness to the nutritious ingredients and love that go into your baked goods to internalise this advantage.

So, does baking sound like something you think is worth giving a try to check for yourself whether all of  what we said is actually really true? If yes, then, go ahead and check out APCA Singapore’s pastry course in singapore right now! Go hurry!
