 Bench-Top Universal Testing tension and compression testing can be performed in the Test BayTwo precision rolled ball screws with multiple circuit ball nuts to provide smooth, precise motion under the full operating range. Chrome steel rods and bearings remove  lateral surface translation and assure accurate alignment throughout the full range of travel. Heavy fan-fold saves the lead screws and linear travel bearings from pollution and damage. The loading zones are ground to flatness and parallel standards. Each  facet is fabricated with a bolt circle that gives a means of attaching the system cell or universal joints or any assortment of testing fixtures to any of the four surfaces.

A joint and interconnection  for attaching to tensile wedge grips or similar fixtures is furnished. A universal tension load cell of the frame capacity is provided with system adjustment  through the automatic 24-bit load cell signal conditioner. A high resolution optical encoder is  combined  to the frame revolving components, furnishes displacement measurements for test programs, and also provides the control with closed loop feedback to assure constant travel rate under all load conditions.
