So, what, exactly, will you be doing? What is expected of you? If you\'re like most people, you want to know up front what is going to be expected of you. While it\'s a general rule that your role in the company will be listed with the job, it\'s good to know what you\'re responsibilities will be.

The term \"data entry\" can be misleading. Many people believe all the job requires is typing into a template anything sent to them. That\'s only part of it. Data entry requires a good eye, attention to detail, and the other aspect of the job is to point out any errors there may be in the data given to you.

\"Wait,\" you say. \"I thought this was a typical work from home job!\" It is not a picnic when you are looking at work at home jobs. They include actual work and work time. The company isn\'t paying you to just sit around and enter data only when you feel like it - at your leisure and at your own pace. You\'ll need to think and apply your knowledge to what you\'re assignment is.

Therefore, you\'ll need to look for mistakes in data, such as whether something is in error, or there is wrong data. Naturally, sometimes you won\'t understand, or know, what something means. If this is the case, you\'ll need to examine the data and get in touch with your supervisor immediately to rectify it if it is, indeed, in error.

People working in writing, editing, and proofreading, need to have an intensely keen eye. You\'ll need to see spelling, grammar, and structural mistakes at first glance, because if you miss something there is a good chance the company will find someone else who\'s better at doing the job. You\'ll either be given less important, lower paying jobs, or you\'ll find yourself out of work. In terms of actual writing assignments, you\'re going to need to adapt to every style of writing you\'re given. That means that if you have to write an article on business, you\'ll need to write in a business style; the same is true of any other genre.

Also, you will need to do the proper research. Never write ANYTHING you know nothing about. All it takes is a quick trip online and you\'re set. Some basic facts and information on a specific subject is all you\'ll need to write the article.

Probably the toughest work at home position is that of a medical transcriber. Absolute correctness is a must, and if you make a mistake there can be grave consequences not only for the patient whose information messed up, but for you and your employment status. The requirement is to take all of the information you\'re given, and, by listening carefully, writing down everything the doctor, nurse, or physician\'s assistant says in the recording. Because you\'ll need to be familiar with medical terms, doctor\'s offices are looking for people who have experience with medical terminology.

It\'s easy to get lost in what you have to do, so make sure your job details are clearly explained. And of course, you NEED to ask questions if you don\'t understand something.
