Emerson Knives: an innovation that still unmatched

In the world of modern knives when super steel, fall-shut action, and several other adjectives define a knife, Emerson Knives still hold their decades old recipe and give a rebuttal to the modernism. An Emerson Knife has the same old 154CM, G10 liner lock, and other features.

While some knife collectors show reluctance at this old school formula, those who have tried-and-tasted feel a punch with it. The company’s defiance of design trends along with its original formula makes Emerson Knives different. This is how these knives keep their raw charm and strength. Maybe this is the reason why Emerson Knives are much sought after among elite military group as well as hobby pursuers.

Ernest Emerson, the man behind the knife, has developed a simple vision that he followed with a humble beginning and worked really hard for achievements that he has made today. The success of the company is the true reward.

Early Emerson Knives

As he couldn’t afford a balisong knife, he decided to make his own. The first one was literally made on the kitchen table.

The very first knife by Emerson is the one made by him for his martial art training. He built a knife of his own by milling and drilling the handles out of aluminum. The made a blade out of a steel blank, and used a blowtorch for the heat treatment in the kitchen.

He developed an appetite for knifemaking and perhaps this was the best decision. He started selling balisongs for . Inspired by a legendary knife maker Michael Walker, he started making folders -- fancy, linear-lock folders, made with anodized and exotic materials. Now he was making knives for knife shows to be sold for a huge price to collectors.

Durable folding knives

When Emerson realized the need for durable knives for combats, Viper Knives came into existence. It was specifically designed for police backup weapons and maritime work. There are different versions of this knife, for fights as well. And, Vipers are still made in a newer version.

Tactical folding knives

Emerson Knives have some of the finest variants such as Chisel Grind, CQC-6, and Specwar, which set a benchmark in the world of tactical folding knives.

Wave-shaped opening

Perhaps the signature design of Emerson is the wave-shaped opening feature, which is simply called the Wave. A folding knife with a Wave opens faster than any other knife, even an automatic.

Emerson is special for a reason. An Emerson Knife on hand gives better control on any situation.
