The comfort of nappies is amazing. Popular Diaper brands like Mamy Poko Pants are buzzwords at home where a newborn has arrived. But as we know, every comfort comes with a price. So if you remain ignorant towards nappy changing, and do not pay attention to the basic know how about it, then your baby may get in trouble with skin rash or other allergies.

Here are certain tips for nappy changing for the couples who are or going to be new to parenthood.

Nappies in Bulk: Stock lots of cloth nappies. A newborn normally wets the nappy 18-20 times a day so stock them in bulk. If you purchase them in bulk, you may get them cheaper. Check the cloth material as it should be fine cotton.

Wash the Wet or Soiled Nappies Regularly: Never pile up the used nappies. After washing them thoroughly in detergent, soak them in a disinfectant solution for 5-10 minutes and allow them to dry in Sun.

Gentle Ceaning: While changing the nappy, wash your baby with a gentle, unscented and pH balanced baby soap. Pat dry the area thoroughly especially the folds on thigh and area around the genitals. You should never rub while wiping off the water as baby skin is highly delicate. The best way to keep the baby bottom free of rash is to keep it clean and dry. Dust some gentle baby powder or apply diaper rash cream if needed. After all these steps, make the baby wear the nappy.

Change Nappies Frequently: Even if the nappies are not wet but have become damp due to sweat, just replace it with a fresh one.

Disposable and Non-Disposable Nappies: Washable nappies are good when you are at home. Disposable nappies are comfortable when you are travelling or away from home. However, try using them at a minimum. It is always advisable to wash the baby bottom before replacing the nappy with the new one. However, if you are travelling or at night time, you can rely upon disposable baby wipes. The one available in the market are soaked in the mild antiseptic solution and soothing essential oils for delicate skin.

Check Frequently: Check the baby frequently if she needs a nappy change. Anyhow, the baby is going to make you realise this by crying or getting irritated. Just be attentive.

Nappy Size: Always check the size of the nappy for a growing baby. If the doo-doo leaks from the nappy frequently, it is time to go for a bigger size. Go for reputed and proven brands of Mamy Poko Pants.

Consult a Physician: Diaper or Nappy rash fades away in a day or two after taking proper care. However, if the rash or redness of the skin or its irritation persists, do not waste time in trying remedies. Consult your family physician soon.

Changing Nappy is a job which doesn’t pay you in cash but with immense happiness and satisfaction. One must cherish these moments and enjoy them. Talk to your baby and sing a song for him while changing the nappy. Share a gentle kiss to your piece of heart when you are done.
