The time is now for the Edmonton Oilers to push for a Stanley Cup.

They have the best player in the game in Conor McDavid. They have a perennial Hart Trophy threat in Leon Draisatl. Both just came off of 30+ point displays in the 2022 playoffs.

The rest of the roster lags behind the displays of its dynamic duo. Still, with top-end talent like that, Edmonton has no other choice but to make the moves nece sary to compete for hockey's greatest Justin Hardee Jerseys trophy.

The 2021-22 season was largely a succe s for the Oilers. Led by McDavid and Draisatl, they finally broke through, making it to the Western Conference Finals before being ousted by the Avalanche in four games.

It wasn't all clear skies for The Oil. Midway through the season, . The Oilers replaced him with Jay Woodcroft, a former Oilers Denzel Mims Jerseys a sistant who had spent the past three seasons coaching Edmonton's AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.

Woodcroft's hire sparked a 26-9-3 end to the season which helped put the Oilers on the doorstep of NHL glory.

The Oilers must continue to prove to McDavid and Draisatl that they can win in Edmonton. With a little more than million of cap space, according to , the Oilers will certainly vie for some good depth talent in free agency. Edmonton might also seek an improvement in net; Mike Smith C.J. Uzomah Jerseys and Mikko Koskinen performed admirably but are hardly elite netminders.

All of this is to say, Edmonton has to take chances. And whether that's in free agency or in the NHL draft, they have to hit more often than not to ensure that McDavid and Draisatl want to be there.

Stop me if you've heard this before the Oilers need agoalie. Stuart Skinner looked OK in his brief trial run this year, and he's the only option they have for Quinnen Williams Jerseys the future. Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen are both well past their prime and it's time for new blood in the Edmonton crease.

It's not a deep goaltending pool this year, so Edmonton can grab some higher end talent and then take a flyer in the later rounds on a goaltender.
