One of these things just doesn't belong here. Jaromir Jagr, Alex Ovechkin, Patrick Kane and John Scott will be captains for division teams in the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.

Wait, what? Scott, now playing with the Coyotes, will captain the Pacific Division team in Paul Krause Jerseys the revamped showcase event. Scott has played 11 games, has no goals and one a sist and 25 penalty minutes. He has been waived three times this season.

A 6-8 left winger who makes his living with his knuckles, Scott, 33, is the least-deserving NHL All-Star in memory. He knows it; he pleaded with fans not to vote for him during December's balloting. And yet, he was the leading vote getter throughout the proce s.

If he wants to do the right thing, Scott will renounce the voting results and opt out of being captain. He should decide not to attend the All-Star Game.

It seems he won't do the right thing.

Its one of those things where I dont want to be made a joke of. I dont want to be an embarra sment. I dont want to embarra s the game in that way, he told reporters, via Dalvin Cook Hoodies Sweatshirts a .

But I talked to some people. I talked to a lot of former players and everyone said just go with it, have fun with it and itll be a good experience.

Kane backs Scott.

Patrick Kane on John Scott being elected to All-Star Game: "Hopefully Johnny shows up. It would be something good for the game."

Chris Kuc (@ChrisKuc)

His Coyotes teammates support Scott.

"We couldn't be happier for him," winger Max Domi told . "He's really the best guy in the world off the ice. Not everyone gets to see that side of him. So hopefully he'll add a little spice to the All-Star Game, and he can play, too. He's a great player, and he's going to have fun. It's an experience of a lifetime."

This "great player," by the way, was a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Oilers.

This is the mockery created when sports leagues open their voting to fans. It will not end, and leagues can't help themselves by eliminating fans from the proce s or at the least downgrading their voting. Justin Jefferson Hoodies Sweatshirts Fans are always right, no matter how wrong they are.

The NHL's decision to throw out its stale All-Star Game format now looks even worse. Korey Stringer Jerseys A meaningle s exhibition becomes far le s than what the league expected afterthe vote that make an unworthy player a captain.

John Scott didn't ask for this, so dont blame him..

The NHL and NHLPA allowed the institution of the All-Star to jump the shark two-plus decades ago. John Scott is the logical conclusion.

Ok. It was funny. We all had a laugh, and the point's been made. Now, John Scott politely declines the all-star pick and we move on, right?

The 2016 NHL All-Star Game will be staged Jan. 31 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The Skills Competition is on Jan. 30. Since the weekend doesn't include a fight competition, Scott has no busine s being there.

There's nothing personal Zack Bailey Jerseys in this regarding Scott. Like any NHL fighter he does a dirty job. He isn't a mindle s monster. But the only way he makes the All-Star Game is what has happened. Fans made a mockery of the voting proce s.

Consider Scott's career numbers: 285 games over seven seasons, the most being 56 in 2013-14 with the Sabres; five goals, 11 a sists and 542 penalty minutes.

The NHL didn't disclose final vote totals.

The other three division captains are both worthy and expected. Jagr is the aged centerpiece of the surprising Panthers, who entering Sunday were the Atlantic Division leaders. At 43, he is capping a Hall of Fame career. Ovechkin is, well, Ovechkin. He is Metropolitan Division captain, the man on the Capitals as they lead the Eastern Conference standings.

As for the other Western Conference captain, Kane is this season's best player. Kane is the alpha to Bisi Johnson Jerseys Scott's omega, the most deserving as opposed to the least.

If this is truly what NHL fans want, if this is really what the league intended, so be it. Really, when was the last time the All-Star Game mattered? It is an exhibition made even le s meaningful by voters making Scott the most popular player by ballot.

It can only be saved by Scott doing the right thing by bowing out. If, that is, the All-Star Game is worth saving.
