Flyers tab Dave Hakstol from North Dakota as new coach

Ron Hextall went way outside the crease this time.

The Flyers general manager announced Monday that the team has Elijah Mitchell Jerseys hired Dave Hakstol from North Dakota as its new head coach. He replaces Craig Berube, who was fired last month.

Hakstol, 46, has no NHL coaching experience. He has spent the last 11 seasons at North Dakota, Trey Lance Jerseys going289-143-43 and leading the Fighting Sioux to the NCAA Tournament each year.

Hakstol has coached 20 players who went on to the NHL, most notably Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks and Richard Sherman T Shirts T.J. Oshie of the Blues. But Hextall is taking a leap of faith in going completely outside the profe sional hockey world for this hire.
