Ready To Cook Food - The Saviour

Posted by Meeta Solanki on August 4th, 2022

I am a very lazy cook, I want things to be done fast and efficiently. But the foodie inside me always craves delicious flavorful dishes. Coming from a very typical Punjabi household, I have always eaten home-cooked meals that my mom used to make after spending hours in the kitchen.

I moved out of my parents' home last year for work and it has become insanely difficult for me to find time to cook my meals. Most of the time, I just cook something that is fast and easy to cook like eggs or dal. So, I used to rely more on ready-to-eat meals that I can just heat up and eat. As expected from my Punjabi mom who is overprotective of me, she has asked me not to eat those ready-to-eat meals anymore.

I started searching for alternatives that do not take up as much time but are delicious as well. My friend suggested that I should research more about ready-to-cook meals rather than the ones that are ready-to-eat. I felt it was a win-win situation for me, my mom is happy that I eat fresh, hot food and I save hours of cooking time. It genuinely made me excited to think about the concept. Apparently, there are numerous brands that sell such products that just take about 30 minutes to cook completely.

On a fine weekend, my roommate and I had a craving to eat chicken biryani, but as usual, nobody wanted to do the work. For me, the perfect biryani is one made at home, but which I don’t have to cook! But that’s not possible, right?

As much as we love eating biryani, we don’t quite enjoy the process of cooking it. It takes too much time - from chopping up all the veggies to washing the chicken and cooking it.

We’re always looking for recipes that are easy and that don’t take much time to cook, without compromising on the taste. After all, we still want to eat our favourite Hyderabadi chicken biryani with that same flavour that makes our mouths water.

So after a ton of research, trying different brands and reading a lot of positive reviews, I bought a packet of Hyderabadi Biryani Paste from CURRYiT to try. Before this, I was never satisfied with the other ready-to-cook brands. This biryani, however, was extremely delicious and satisfying. The recipe that they shared behind the pack was so easy that it practically took no effort to cook. I want to share the same recipe with you so that you can see it for yourself.

  1. Boil 380g Basmati Rice with CURRYiT Magic Pouch until 80% Cooked.

  2. In a pan, add CURRYiT Hyderabadi Biryani Paste & saute 700g chicken (marinated with lime) for 2 minutes.

  3. Add 300ml of water and cook till the chicken is done.

  4. In a deep dish pan, make three alternating layers of rice and chicken.

  5. Sprinkle Kewra water, fried onions, mint & coriander leaves. Seal & cook on low flame for 15 minutes.

  6. Adjust salt & consistency to taste.

It was that simple! And the flavour profile, ohhh my God, it was heavenly. Oozing with desi ghee and rich spices, I had never tasted anything like it before.

They even have a wide range of exceptional products. Everything from biryani, paneer butter masala, mutton rogan josh, all the way to rajma, CURRYiT has covered all the basics and nailed it.

I’m amazed that such a product exists and is finally gaining the popularity that it deserves. All products that they sell take no more than 30 minutes to cook completely even if you start from scratch. How cool is that! They have an easy step-by-step recipe that is shared in every pack, which is a maximum of 5 steps as far as I have seen. I can’t emphasise this enough - CURRYiT is the best brand in India that sells premium ready to cook curry pastes
