So, you have a great website design that represents your company perfectly. But do you have a business card that is equally appealing. Your business card is also a representation of your company.

Even this era of digitalization, plastic business cards continue to be an excellent networking tool that helps you acquire new clients or introduce your brand to new customers. So, you have to make sure that you are choosing wide design choices. It should be able to attract the audience of the recipients.

If you are not sure how to design the business cards, you can take a look at the dos and don’ts.

Do’s

1.  Do Choose a Professional Design

The design of the business card has to be consistent with the design of the other printing materials. Make sure you don’t go for a generic design for your plastic business card printing. If you want your business cards to stand out from your competitor’s cards, you need to check a unique design.

A professional graphic design can help in choosing a business card that will help in reflecting the professional or personal brand.

2.  Do Pay Attention to Readability

The point is applicable only to fonts. It might be tempting to use a fashionable font but you need to keep in mind that they can be difficult to read. One of the primary aims is to ensure the readability of the customers. The font size shouldn’t be too big or overwhelming. But also, it shouldn’t be too small that your recipients have to squint their eyes just to read what is on the square business cards.

3.  Do Choose the Right Color Schemes

Apart from the typeface legibility, the color scheme and visual content decide the success of the business card’s design. You might be tempted to you bold and bright colors to grab the attention of your customers but are they really important?

When you think about color schemes and visual content, you need to consider the business. Remember, consistent is the key. Make sure that you are choosing color that doesn’t distract the onlookers from the key business details or the logo.

4.  Do Include Important Content

It isn’t a PowerPoint slide. So, make sure that you do not cram it with information. The aim of the business card is to offer key details about the business and contact information. It includes the name, email, and website. You should be able to answer the basic questions of your potential clients with only a glance.

Don’ts

1.  Don’t Use Random Visuals

In case you are not sure about the visual that you would like to use for the square business card printing, it is better not to use any if they do not contribute to telling your client anything about the brand. Use visuals that will tell your recipients about your brand.

2.  Don’t Use UV or Any Other Glossy Coating

Glossy finishes might look nice but they come with many disadvantages. You might not have considered this yet but people often write notes on business cards. When you distribute the card, the recipient will stand there and read it avoiding sunlight.

3.  Don’t Cram It with Information

In case the card is too crammed with information, you might just scare off your potential clients or just annoy them so much that they discard it. Only include details that are important.
