However, once you get regular at it, the fear starts to diminish and your skills begin to improve. So, once you are ready for that first dip, you should make sure that you first find an open water float for sale and equip yourself with other essential accessories too.

A pair of goggles: Swimming in the open waters can take long hours. In the meantime, your eyes would be exposed to the minerals and salts present in those waters which can end up hurting you. A good pair of goggles would provide all the necessary protection that you need.

Wetsuit: No matter what time of the year it is, you cannot stand the water temperature all throughout. A wetsuit would ensure that you last longer in the ocean. Wetsuits would also help in preventing your body from overheating or hypothermia, in case it is too cold.

Swim cap: Just like your eyes, your hair should also be protected from the elements present in the open waters. So, a swim cap is an absolute must. Besides, it is great in case you need some extra warmth.

Swim float: If it is your first open water swim, then it is totally necessary to buy open water swim float. Not only will it aid in swimming but also keep you visible to boats and other water vehicles. The float can also allow you to store your knick-knacks and keep them dry at the same time.

Towels: You would need them desperately the moment you step back on dry ground. It is a good idea to carry a small spare one too so that in case one is soiled or is needed by someone else, you have a backup.

Dry clothes: Just for that clean and refreshing feel the moment you are out of the water and all dried up.

Chafing stick: This is basically a wax-like substance that will keep your skin from getting irritated due to friction with the wetsuit.

Flip flops: Whether the ground is rocky or sandy, flip flops are the best footwear to walk in when you go for a swim. They are easy to wear and clean and if you get them in fast-drying materials, it would be even better.
