Technology Institute Acharya Bangalore began its journey in 2000 as an Acharya Institutes project. Premnath Reddy founded the organization, which is managed by the JMJ Education Society. The institution was founded with the mission of fostering aspirants, assisting them in growing on a global scale, and assisting them in advancing technical education. Students from more than 60 nations, including India, are drawn to the flexible undergraduate, diploma, postgraduate, and research programs that are all infused with exceptional academic, learning, and teaching approaches. The university is referred to be a "student-centric institution" since it prioritizes the achievement of its students.

Affiliation with Visvesvaraya Technological University and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation for the institution (VTU). It is proud to have been the first VTU campus in Karnataka to offer a Mechatronics Engineering undergraduate program. The institution was required to have the status of "Technical Campus" by the "All India Council for Technical Education" (AICTE) in 2012. In several areas, such as research, a cooperative exchange program, workshops, international internship programs, etc., the college has relationships with educational organizations on a national and worldwide level. In addition, it has worked with other sectors of industry.

The university is committed to fostering an environment that supports students' total growth. The administration and faculty support students' active engagement in co-curricular and extracurricular activities through organizations, committees, athletics, and the arts & culture. There, students receive the necessary exposure for them to perform at their peak. There are seven colleges in Karnataka that are supported by the World Bank, and this institution is one of them. These colleges also benefit from large endowments from VTU. The governing council, academic council, and proctorial system make up the administrative body of this college, which is in charge of all organizational functions.
