Buying a home in Dublin Ohio Should I get an inspection?

Okay, so you've found your dream home for sale in Dublin, Ohio now the next big step is inspections! Many of our clients who buy a home in Dublin, Ohio and surrounding areas of Powell, Grandview, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Worthington and New Albany, Ohio ask which inspections they should preform on a house to make sure the home is well maintained, and you know what to expect when you are the actual owner.  We recommend getting a general home inspection, a radon inspection, and a termite inspection.  Here in Ohio, buyers are responsible for paying for their own inspections, which usually cost between 0-0 dollars. The price usually depends on the size of the home. When you go into contract, make sure your agent allows plenty of time to get the home inspected.  This is a important part of your offer and you should generally ask for between 10-12 days to allow time to get a great inspector in to look at the home.  Ask around to get the best inspector possible, as this is an important part of the home buying experience!  While no inspector is perfect, and they can't see everything in three hours or so, which is the general length of an inspection, the inspector should be able to tell you the overall health of the home and what to budget for in the way of future repairs. After inspections, you'll want to sit down with your agent and strategize for upcoming repairs.  You can ask the seller to fix many items, just as long as they're not cosmetic.  If you have more questions about buying a home in Dublin Ohio or Dublin Ohio Real Estate in general, give us a call! The Hetherington Team is happy to help you in any way we can.
