4 Months with Milwaukee 2691-22 18V Compact Drill & Impact Driver Kit

I’ve always relied on Milwaukee drills as they are made to last and Milwaukee drill parts are purchasable if need be. Milwaukee builds their tools to offer a better combination of performance and price and this tool is not an exception. I bought this combo about four months ago and cannot be more pleased. This excellent 18-volt duo places incredible power into the hands of DIY users where projects are now limited only by imagination. Milwaukee has always been a front runner for power tools and these two products only reaffirm their reputation.

The first thing I noticed about these products was the feel of the drivers. Both the 0.5” driver and 0.25” impact driver are well balanced and have a great grip when handling them. These drivers, just like all Milwaukee products, are sleek looking and quite durable. I’ve already accidentally performed a drop test when building a work bench in my garage and there is no sign of damage and the driver runs great. Another great feature that is convenient is the LED light that is built into each driver. Most of us have had a screw or two that needed to be driven into that tight, dark corner and couldn’t see. These lights are bright and continue to shine for around five seconds after the trigger is depressed. Also, both drivers have variable speed settings that allow the user to choose how fast or slow to operate the driver. This is a fantastic feature that will allow beginners to learn how to operate the tools at their own pace.

As we all know, a cordless tool is only as good as its battery. This combo set comes with two of Milwaukee’s Red Lithium Ion batteries with enough battery life to finish whatever job it comes up against. From building work benches to even powering through cinder blocks, I have yet to charge a battery in the middle of a job. Also, each battery comes with a convenient battery life indicator so you are able to see how much life is left in each battery. Unlike other battery chargers that I have used, you will not see any number of Morse Code-like blinking signals when charging these batteries. Milwaukee simplifies its battery charger by allowing it to display a solid red light for charging and a solid green light when it’s charged.

If I were to critique one item about this tool set, it would be the contractor’s bag that the tools can be carried in. The bag is made of a thick canvas instead of a durable plastic case and only has one compartment for the tools. However, if this is important to you, the plastic case is available if these items are purchased separately.

Overall, I am greatly satisfied with these drivers. They are a well made, user friendly, affordable tool set that every DIY user needs to have in their tool box. Because of this set, I have and plan on making many more Milwaukee purchases to fit my needs.
