There have not been a lot of people in the world who have not wanted to better their skin health and texture. Maybe your skin is too oily, or you want a more even skin tone. Irrespective of your skin issue, getting an appointment for hydrafacial cleansing is the best solution.

This process ensures you regain the glow and health your skin deserves. However, given the recent invention of this therapy, not many people know what to expect. Here is everything you need to know about hydrafacial therapy and its benefits.

Steps Included In the Therapy

Before you understand how the treatment works and its advantages, you must learn about its steps. A standard session of hydrafacial will include the following:

  • Exfoliation:

The first step is to exfoliate your skin. Skin cells constantly die and rejuvenate. Gradually the skin sheds. However, with exfoliation, this upper layer will come off, and your skin will feel revitalized and fresh.

It will also help make your complexion look brighter as your skin will reflect more light without dirt. For the sweeping, the esthetician uses a deplaning tool. This also helps open closed pores, enhancing skin hydration.

  • Acid Peel:

Earlier in the day, acid peels could burn your skin, but these products have come a long way since then. Now they use a non-irritant mix of salicylic and glycolic acid.

This solution will help deeply rooted debris which can be washed later. The peel will also provide the necessary hydration it requires. This stage will also work as a blackhead cleaner, leaving your skin feeling softer.

  • Extraction:

The third step includes the esthetician using a wand to act as a vacuum and take out all the debris from the clogged pores. Earlier, the esthetician pinned and pushed the skin to force the debris out.

That used to be quite painful, but with this method, there is no reason to fear. Since the acid peel helped loosen the debris, it comes out easier in this step. There are a few different suction strengths that the esthetician can choose from.

  • Applying the serum:

The final step is to apply a serum to soothe and enhance the health of your skin. Usually, estheticians use a wand to apply collagen and other antioxidant serum to the skin.

This further helps with elasticity and hydration. Any kind of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, oiliness or hyperpigmentation will diminish with this last step.

How to Prepare For a Hydrafacial Cleanser Treatment?

These treatments usually include quite a few intricate steps and can be heavy on your pocket. So, you would want to get the best possible results. For that, you will need to fulfill some basic prerequisites.

  • Do not use any kind of Isotretinoin product before the treatment. Unless your clinician has given you clearance, a minimum of a 6-month gap is necessary.
  • Do not use topical Retin-A or tretnoin at least 48 hours before treatment.
  • Stop using exfoliating treatments such as enzymes or glycolic acid, specifically in the area that will get treated for 48 hours.
  • Do not go in for any kind of laser, deep chemical peel, or chemical resurfacing treatment two weeks prior to the treatment.
  • Avoid too much sun exposure, and do not sit in tanning beds for at least 72 hours prior to treatment.
  • Do not get botox treatments for two weeks before the treatment. Although you can get surgery right after the treatment, not before.
  • Give a 48-hour rest from using depilatories or wax before your treatment.
  • No over-the-counter acne medicines can get consumed 48 hours before treatment.

While these are things you should do before the treatment, the list does not end here. There are some post-treatment instructions as well that can help with recovery.

  • Apply PC Hyauronic Boosting Serum daily, once in the morning and once at night after the treatment.
  • Wash your face with a Hydropeptide Exfoliating Cleanser the next day of the treatment. Over-the-counter face washes can be harsh on your skin, often damaging it.
  • Avoid going out in the sun or intense heat near the treatment area for at least 24 hours.
  • Wait at least a day after your surgery, and only then apply any kind of make-up.
  • You should also use hydro peptide SPF 30 sunscreen continuously for at least 3 to 5 days after treatment.

After the treatment, the skin often remains defenseless and vulnerable. This is why aftercare is as essential as pre-treatment care. You can simply ask your clinician or esthetician if you have any queries or questions. If this is your first time, sitting with an esthetician to learn about the process is absolutely necessary.
