Blizzard announced that the first phase of the Dragonflight WoTLK Gold testing begins today, on July 14 2022. It is the World of Warcraft expansion's alpha will let players explore the brand-new Azure Span zone, plays as the Dracthyr Evoker and ride dragons and try out new interface enhancements.
The Azure Span is the name of a tundra region, which is populated by the humanoid Walrus Tuskarr Blue Dragons, gnolls, and Furbolg. It's one of the expansion's Dragon Isles, and is inspired by its counterpart, the Redwoods of California, along with the previous WoW zones like Grizzly Hills. It's among the biggest zones in WoW currently and boasts the most striking elevation changes.
The alpha version will let players try out both large as well as small-scale changes to gameplay. Blizzard has announced that the only Dracthyr character available at the moment is Evoker but it is possible to include more classes in the future. In other class news, the Alpha will also enable players to test changes in the Death Knight, Druid, Hunter, Priest, and Rogue classes, as well as the newly designed talent trees. Additionally, players will be able to see changes to the Alchemy as well as Blacksmithing careers, like the introduction of new crafting stations and professional equipment.
