England Rugby World Cup shirt appraisal 2022-23

Posted by Xchange Tickets on November 16th, 2022

England Rugby World Cup: Your eyes aren’t misleading you – that’s England once again wearing a black away jersey, this time against Argentina. The rationale is the potential to avoid a rugby kit clash as we will allegedly get for Ireland versus South Africa, with England’s traditional white possibly blurring into Los Pumas‘ white hoops.

It’s surely a change from the norm – but the present stock of home shirts isn’t the plain white numbers we’re used to either. So if you’re preparing to cheer for England women in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand or shout for the men during the Autumn Nation Series, you might want to take a look at the best contracts we could find for them – and read our appraisals of the shirts too.

England Rugby World Cup men’s home shirt

The latest England Rugby World Cupmen’s shirt features red specifying with hoops on the sleeve and squint and you might see a hint of the St George’s flag in visuals at the bottom of the shirt.

According to builder Umbro: “Inspired by architectural details from Twickenham the England Home Replica Jersey is an eye-infectious style both on the pitch and in the stands. Featuring a graphic front body, the saddle covers are detailed with a bold double barred print for a fresh upbeat look.”

Umbro also states that this shirt is made with a “micro-rib crew neckline collar”, back neck tape, flat armor-plated seams, and twin needle stitching.

You can also buy now from Umbro for £75.

Or from Lovell Rugby for £75.

RW’s review:

This shirt is a lot fuller than we are used to seeing from England men – traditionally all of them went into England’s away or ‘third’ shirts. Here there’s a lot more going on.

A bit more character is great, though with the detailing tiptoeing up from the bottom of the men’s shirt, you wonder if it would have looked healthier coming down from the top, much more similar in style to the women’s shirt, below. Either way, there will be no missing England men this fall.To know more about England Vs Argentina Tickets click here.

England women’s home shirt

Standing out and looking different in their Rugby World Cup shirt is England women.

Builder Umbro says they are “Proud to be introducing the second bespoke kit for the Red Roses, highlighting their clear point of alteration for this World Cup year. Detailed with the architecturally inspired print at the top of the sweater, the sleeves are tipped with a flash of red.”

This shirt is just for the Rugby World Cup – they will be sporting a shirt almost undistinguishable from the men after, and you can find that shirt at Umbro for £75.

The deal overhead for the World Cup jersey could be yours for £56.25 via England Rugby Stock, but you can also find it on Lovell Rugby for £75.

RW’s review:

We like it. The information on the top of the shirt just feels lovely and badass.

It also greeneries the rest of the shirt clean and neat. So while you advantage of all the best of contemporary tech in shirt manufacturing, it does not overly cry as a shirt. It just feels kind of right.

England Rugby World Cup black away shirt

Memory when England wore a dark away shirt for the Rugby World Cup in 2011? A time many have instinctive themselves to forget. Well, England is at it again, with this other number with a “subtle stripe design” on it, and the publicity spin is very much to sell this as a shirt you could attire any day, not just when the competition is on.

That’s confidently calmer to do when it’s a darker shirt.

You can also get the shirt from Lovell Rugby for £75 or via Umbro at £75.

RW’s review

We like the brittleness of the bands on the front and although the O2 logo yawns away on the front there looking huge as the white-on-black bangs out more, all else works well together. So much so that we’d what the lack of a collar. One of England’s best pointers for an away shirt for the selected time.

Sinckler reminiscences ‘surreal’ England talk before the Rugby World Cup win over All Blacks

Kyle Sinckler has lifted the lid on the “surreal” team session that left him certain England would beat the All Blacks and reach the Rugby World Cup final in 2019, labeling the two sides’ first session since then “big-boy rugby”.

Eddie Jones well brought a samurai sword into the session and sliced kiwi fruit in two to convince his squad how New Zealand could be beaten. Sinckler, fresh from counting a try in the quarter-final win over Australia, recalls that the whole team was transfixed by Jones’s left-field change and that England was left-hand in no doubt that they would beat the All Blacks six days advance.

England wrinkled up in a V-shape in reply to the haka before kick-off and then proceeded to deliver arguably their best performance under Jones, with Manu Tuilagi scoring an early try in a 19-7 win in Yokohama – the first time they had beaten the All Blacks since 2012.

Sinckler said:

Sinckler said: “We had a team session on Sunday which is very strange. Usually, Sunday is a day off, and you never really see Eddie, but he called a players’ meeting at 9 am. I’ll never forget that session, in terms of how we set the week up with our gameplan – putting weight on them, we’re going at them, walking towards the danger. It was strange knowledge as we had no doubt after that conference we were going to win.

“How several eras have we seen [squads] walk towards the haka and New Zealand put 50 points on them? We felt if we were going to do that we were required to back it up. It was one of those rare moments in your career where all went to plan.”To know more about England Vs Japan Tickets click here.
Saturday’s competition will be the All Blacks’ first tour to Twickenham since 2018

England has not compressed them at home since Tuilagi ran amok 10 years ago. New Zealand is on a six-match charming streak and, though Scotland gave them a huge scare on Sunday, Sinckler, who first met the All Blacks when on behalf of the British & Irish Lions in 2017, trusts their physicality sets them apart.

He added: “They can do the showy stuff but the nuts and bolts of their game are very imposing. That was one of the main eye-openers for me when I first played New Zealand. Jesus, these guys are physical. We’ve got to make sure we bring our ‘A’ game since, if we don’t, they are a world-class outfit. And, for me, it’s just ultimate thankfulness to be in a position to do what I love. Big-boy rugby now!”

Sinckler has ongoing both of England’s autumn matches to date have missed the back end of the Six Nations and the summer tour of Australia with a back injury. Jones later said that, at his best, Sinckler is the leading tighthead prop in the world, but the 29-year-old revealed how incapacitating his back injury had been as he brands his way back to top form.

Rugby World Cup

“For me to be out there, pain-free, playing again and receiving back to where I know I can get to, I’ve just got ultimate thankfulness for that,” he said. “I had chronic, chronic pain. I’m very fortunate because I’m an expert athlete and we have good physics at the club, and I’ve got my team outdoors. Every minute of the day was around my rehab and I just thought: ‘Imagine if you were just a normal person who had a domestic and was doing a nine-to-five and you were feeling this stuff.’ I don’t know how they would get through that.

“My heart goes out to people commerce with lingering pain because there are some dark times. I would think: ‘Am I ever going to play again?’ I was in so much pain. I couldn’t sit down. I couldn’t put my shoes and my hits on. I was bed-bound for three or four months.”
