The message acknowledges the suffering of the women

The message WoTLK Classic Gold acknowledges the suffering of the women who were said to be targeted and discriminated against , and states that the studio is taking time and action for World of Warcraft to get into a better situation. The message also states that "we must also begin immediate action in Azeroth to get rid of references that are not appropriate to our time."

While it is not directly said what specific references will be removed from both World of Warcraft Classic it appears likely that the team will be taking out references to ex-director Alex Afrasiabi, who was named in the court case. Afrasiabi - who resigned from the company in the summer of 2020--allegedly used to frequently harass women at the company, attempt to kiss them, and even throw his arms around the necks of women.

Afrasiabi is an NPC in the game named Field Marshal Afrasiabi which players have been requesting to be removed since the lawsuit went public. The Field Marshal can be located in Stormwind, the Alliance Capital city, Stormwind, and Lord Afrasastrasz the second NPC named after him, is located inside the Wrymwrest Temple in Northrend. The message sent by the World of Warcraft team stated that players can expect to see buy WOW WoTLK Classic Gold "several similar changes to Shadowlands in addition to WoW Classic in the coming days."
