World of Warcraft is an odd box-office hit

Digital HD copies of World of Warcraft release on September 13. If you'd rather wait for WoTLK Gold a physical edition with lots of additional features however, you'll have till September 27 when there will be Blu-rays, DVD and 4K versions become available.

The Blu-ray version is packed with a slew of exclusives, including motion comics as well as a multi-part documentary on the process of bringing World of Warcraft to film and a featurette about wax World of Warcraft figures, and the teaser trailer that was displayed at San Diego Comic-Con in 2013.

Asked on Twitter if there were any more World of Warcraft films, Jones stated, "Not up to me but my friend. I'd love to see it happen however, I don't know for sure."

Jones has been discussing possibilities for sequels and there is no doubt that the World of Warcraft universe is enormous and appears to be prime for story-telling opportunities. Like the longer version of the 40-minute version, the likelihood that Jones will make more films is contingent upon the success of the initial film.

A source who was not identified to The Hollywood Reporter recently said a plan is already underway for a sequel, but admitted that it would require an even lower budget for the project to go ahead.

" World of Warcraft is an odd box-office hit and unlike anything else that the industry has seen," analyst Jeff Bock stated recently. "If China didn't end up exceeding its budget it would have been an utter failure WoTLK Classic Gold. It's now a minor concussion."
