If you have never had to rent scaffolding before, the various types available may surprise you. Scaffolding has been used for many years to provide a stand where materials can be placed and workers can stand. It is important for you to choose the right scaffolding for your project so here is a quick run-through for your consideration.
Supported – This is the kind of scaffolding that you usually see wherever there is construction work. If the weight it will be bearing is a lot, then there may be a need for extra support. Supported scaffolding is usually built starting from the base. It is considered to be the most convenient, cost effective, easiest and safest scaffolding.
Suspended – This is usually suspended from a tall structure or from a roof. If you cannot construct a base, then this is the way to go. It gives access to upper floors. It is great for window cleaning and repair work where tall buildings are concerned.
Rolling – The construction looks very similar to that of supported scaffolding. However, the base is not stable. Instead, castor-style wheels are used so that it can be moved from one place to the next. If you are looking for scaffolding rental VT and you are not able to build a base, go for this kind.
Mobile – You have a choice of either mobile or static scaffolding. The things to consider are how much you will be moving the scaffolding as well as how easy it is to access. You also need to make sure that your mobile unit is put up by someone who knows how to properly construct them. It is important to ensure that your workers understand how to properly use mobile scaffolding in order to reduce safety hazards.
Aerial Lifts – If you have a tall construction and your workers need to reach several different levels so that they can complete their work, an aerial lift is a good idea. If you are completing work on the exterior of a building with workers who need to access two or three levels at once, then an aerial lift will be safer for them and will make it easier to lift plenty of materials at once, as well as many workers to the required levels.
Most of the scaffolding used in construction is considered to be semi-permanent. As soon as the work is done, it is quickly taken apart and from there it is moved to a different location where it is constructed again for use. You may also want to consider fence rental, renting shoring and the like.
