What is a500 square tube?

A500 square tube refers to a steel tube that is rolled from strip steel and has equal side lengths. Generally, the strip steel is unpacked, flattened, crimped, welded to form a round pipe (welded steel pipe), and then rolled into a square pipe from the round pipe and then cut to the required length. Most a500 square tubes are made of steel pipes, mostly structural square tubes, decorative square tubes, architectural square tubes, etc.

What are the common anti-corrosion architectural coatings for a500 square tube?

1. Bitumen

Bituminous anti-corrosion architectural coating, raw materials are easy to obtain, high quality and low price, and can resist the erosion of dilute caustic soda solution and dilute alkali at room temperature. The paint layer has good ductility and fast drying, and is often used as ground waterproofing. However, asphalt coatings are not resistant to various organic solvents and oxidants, and are low-temperature aging. The current fixed products, such as medium temperature coal tar enamel, crude oil epoxy zinc-rich primer, epoxy resin asphalt mastic, are all epoxy zinc-rich primers of modified materials. The purpose is to better improve the strength, heat resistance, aging resistance and adhesion of the square tube high paint layer.

2. Polyurethane material

Polyurethane paint has good acid resistance, alkali resistance, acid and alkali resistance, moisture resistance and wear resistance. As anti-corrosion architectural coatings, there are mainly one-component wet-dry curing type and two-component metal catalyst dry-curing type and methyl dry-curing type. In order to improve some properties, it is often mixed with epoxy glue, asphalt, etc.

3. Styrene epoxy resin

Over-styrene paint is a good architectural coating, which has been widely used in chemical plant pipes to prevent air erosion in chemical plants. Its disadvantage is poor adhesion. In order to improve its adhesion, it is common to modify epoxy resin glue to achieve a certain effect.

4. Zinc-rich architectural coatings

The basic principle of anti-corrosion of zinc-rich architectural coatings is mainly that zinc powder can have the effect of cathodic protection of pipelines on steel raw materials, so it can be used for anti-corrosion of strong electrolytes, sea surface, oil, and deep-sea air. It is not suitable for application in acid and alkali substances.

5. Chlorosulfonated high pressure polyethylene

Chlorosulfonated high-pressure polyethylene architectural coatings have extraordinary resistance to active oxygen and weather embrittlement. High-quality acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance to strong alkali, strong acid, carbonate and other organic chemicals, and makes the square tube have the physical properties of flexibility, wear resistance and impact resistance. It has technical properties such as high temperature resistance, cold resistance, flame retardancy, anti-positive ion radiation source, and good adhesion.

6. Epoxy glue

It has the advantages of strong adhesion, acid and alkali resistance, and low shrinkage, so it is widely used for anti-corrosion of the inner and outer walls of pipelines. The disadvantage is that the aging resistance is poor, the paint layer is easy to peel off, especially when the curing process is not good, the coating has poor wear resistance, and the film is easy to turn white and become brittle.
