But remember when you use makeup brushes over the time it gets caked with leftovers of makeup elements and that can cause breakouts, acne or skin irritation. So you need to clean up your makeup brushes properly to avoid such situation and makes them last longer.

  • At first you have to turn on your faucet and check whether the water is lukewarm, keep all your dirty makeup brushes aside, get a mild shampoo or brush cleaner and also take a clean towel.

  • Then you have to wet your brushes with lukewarm water, put a bit amount of shampoo on it and use your fingers to press through the hairs of the brushes, you can add a bit of water to get foaming action and keep your brushes pointing down.

  • Clean the brushes and repeat the process of dampening the hairs of the brush and applying product up until the water runs clear.

  • After the brushes are appropriately cleaned, tap them down on the hand towel and keep them aside. It is essential to not place the brush straight to dry, as remaining water can run down the handle and slacken off the glue that is holding the brush and the handle together.

  • Reshape the brushes and lay them aside to air dry for more than a few hours.
