3 Lesser Considerations of the Dream HomePosted by Anna Johnson on March 22nd, 2023 When you think about what your dream home is going to look like, you likely paint an image led by rooms, styles, and sizes. These grand design considerations are going to be the most prominent features of the home. What you might not think about, are the smaller details. The aesthetic of the furniture, its proximity to things outside of the home, and the way things are presented. These might sound like minor details, but they can accumulate to make up the entire impression that your home gives off. How comfortable it is and how well it suits the design style you’re going for - this is where those questions are answered. What’s Around the Luxuries? The luxuries themselves – your libraries and swimming pools –might be something that you take for granted. However, simply having those things doesn’t guarantee that they’ll be as nice as they possibly can be. The kind of bookshelves that you use in your library, not to mention the books themselves, and the seating area, are going to impact how much you enjoy spending time there. Take your hypothetical pool, for instance. What do you want it to be? A place to exercise? A place to relax? Or, somewhere that can help you enjoy the outside area? Pool glass railing can implement safety measures without obstructing the view and keeping the area as clean as possible, or if you’re feeling especially lavish, an infinity pool could help to maximize an impressive view. Number of BathroomsThe number of bathrooms that your home has might sound like something that’s a natural consideration when designing a home, but it can be something that you underestimate the value of if you’re having to make compromises. For example, simply having one ensuite bathroom acting as the primary bathroom in the whole house might sound like a workable situation, but you might quickly find that it poses some difficulties when you have guests who aren’t able to use it without coming through your bedroom. Of course, this is balanced by how many guests you plan on having. If you entertain regularly, you might feel more compelled to look for homes that have more bathrooms available. ProximityAs mentioned previously, proximity to various areas and services can play a large part in how much you enjoy living where you do. However, there are so many considerations here that it can be difficult to compress under one umbrella. Proximity to work is important, and how close you are to your friends and family is also something that some people are going to prioritize. Alternatively, you might find that being close to scenic areas can allow you to spend as much time in natural spaces as you would like. Additionally, if you want to have somewhere close by where you can go shopping or enjoy the nightlife, you’ll want to be close to a city. There are so many subjective ways to take this that it’s worth thinking carefully about the kind of environment you want to settle in. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
