What is ERW pipe?

ERW pipe, also known as straight seam high-frequency resistance welded pipe, is used to transport gaseous and liquid objects such as oil and natural gas, and can meet various requirements of high and low pressure, and occupies a pivotal position in the field of transportation pipelines in the world. So what are the requirements and advantages of ERW steel pipes during transportation?

Shipping Requirements for ERW Steel Pipe
1. Requirements before transportation of ERW steel pipes: Generally speaking, the diameter of ERW steel pipes is greater than one meter. Generally, straight seam steel pipes with branch diameters of 1420mm and above need to be listed.
2. Requirements for ERW steel pipes during transportation: If there are thread buckles at both ends, thread protectors should be used for protection. Apply lubricant or rust preventive to the threads. If both ends of the steel pipe are broken, pipe protectors can be added at both ends according to requirements. If the customer requires that the surface of the ERW steel pipe should not have damage such as unevenness, it can be considered to use a protective device between the steel pipes. The protective device can be rubber, straw rope, fiber cloth, plastic, pipe cap, etc.
3. Due to the thick and thin walls, inner support or outer frame protection measures can be adopted. The material of bracket and outer frame adopts the same steel as ERW steel pipe. If the buyer has special requirements for the packing material and packing method of the steel pipe, it shall be specified in the contract; if there is no regulation, the packing material and packing method shall be chosen by the supplier.

1. Convenient production: the overall production process is relatively simple and the production cost is low. Less equipment, light weight, easy to realize continuous and mechanized production.
2. Many types: a wide range of specifications and parameters, and a variety of diameters and wall thicknesses are available.
3. Low infrastructure cost: ERW steel pipe has low infrastructure cost. Compared with railway transportation, the comprehensive cost can be saved by 1/3, and the transportation volume is twice that of railway transportation.
4. Low transportation cost: The transportation cost of ERW steel pipe is the lowest, which is 1/10 of the railway and 1/2 of the waterway.
5. Construction safety: ERW steel pipe construction is simple and the construction period is short. Laid underground, relatively safe and reliable, not restricted by terrain.
