What will affect the compressive strength of seamless carbon steel pipe?

Seamless carbon steel pipe is a long steel pipe with a hollow section and no seams around it. The compressive strength of carbon seamless steel pipe refers to the limit of seamless steel pipe in a certain state, that is, the stress against microscopic plastic deformation. Forces exceeding this limit will permanently fail irreparable parts.

External factors affecting the compressive strength of seamless carbon steel pipes include temperature, strain rate, and ground stress.

1) As the temperature decreases and the strain rate increases, the compressive strength of the seamless carbon steel pipe increases. Especially where body-centered cubic meter metal materials are sensitive to temperature and strain rate, it is easy to cause ultra-low temperature embrittlement of steel;

2) The influence of ground stress is also critical. Although strength is an important index to reflect the intrinsic performance of materials, but the stress value is different, and the strength value is also different.

Intrinsic factors affecting the compressive strength of seamless carbon steel pipes are: welding, mechanism, structure and molecular properties. For example, comparing the compressive strength of metallic materials with porcelain, fibrous materials, it can be seen that the hazards of welding are global.

The formula for calculating the compressive strength of seamless carbon steel pipe:

1) Know the outer diameter, specification and wall thickness of the seamless carbon steel pipe, and calculate the bearing capacity (different steel pipes have different tensile strengths)

Pressure = (wall thickness * 2 * tensile strength of steel pipe material) / (outer diameter * coefficient)

2) Know the outer diameter and bearing pressure of the seamless carbon steel pipe to calculate the wall thickness calculation method

Wall thickness = (pressure * outer diameter * coefficient) / (2 * tensile strength of steel pipe material)

3) Expression method of steel pipe pressure coefficient:

Pressure P<7Mpa, coefficient S=8; 7<steel pipe pressure P<17.5, coefficient S=6; pressure P>17.5, coefficient S=4

The deviation of seamless carbon steel pipe size will also have a certain impact on the compressive strength.
