Capuozzo’s career contributions

Italy has had difficulty keeping up with the elite international rugby squads, but they have made considerable strides in the past few years and are renowned for their fervent and tenacious brand of play. During his playing career, Capuozzo represented numerous organisations, including the Super Rugby squads of the NSW Waratahs, Western Force, and Melbourne Rebels.

He also participated in the French Top 14 for a number of teams, notably Racing 92 and Stade Français. A week later, he started as a fullback for Italy versus Wales and performed the entire game's eighty minutes.

He made a last-ditch effort to break a tackle and pass to Edoardo Padovani, who converted the winning try to give Italy its first victory over Wales since 2007 and snap their 36-match Six Nations Tournament losing skid.

The 23-year-old first hurt his shoulder in this year's Six Nations match against Ireland. On getting back for Toulouse this weekend, he sustained the same shoulder injury. For Toulouse, he debuted on the wing, but he was only able to play for 13 minutes before having to leave the pitch.

Capuozzo's absence will be approximately 10 and 12 weeks, according to L'Equipe. According to the schedule, he would return one month prior to the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France however would be absent for the duration of Toulouse's regular season.

It's a serious setback for the team as they prepare for their match against Leinster and their entry into the Elite 14 playoffs. At the top of the standings, Toulouse has a six-point lead over La Rochelle going into the weekend's games.
