Phish in San Francisco

Phish is a band based in the United States and is recognized for musical invention, comprehensive jams, combination of genres, and has fanatical fan base. The Phish band was formed at the University of Vermont in the year 1983. However, the present line-up was finalized in the year 1985, the four members of the band namely— Mike Gordon who is specialized in bass & vocals, Trey Anastasio who is into guitars & lead vocals, Jon Fishman who is considered for drums, percussion & vocals & Page McConnell who is into keyboards and vocals performed together for around 20 years before going on a break in August 2004. It was in March 2009 that they again came together for a series of three consecutive concerts that were played in the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, and from this time have been performing frequently.

Phish's music blends fundamentals of a wide range of genres, comprising of progressive rock, funk, folk, country, psychedelic rock,  jazz, bluegrass, pop & blues. Even though the band has received little exposure, Phish has acquired a reasonably large and devoted following by the word of mouth, the trade of live recordings, and selling more than 8 million albums and DVDs in the United States.  The dynamic force behind Phish is the recognition of their performances. The band is well known for time and again changing the set lists and details and also the inclusion of their own frolics to guarantee that no two shows of theirs are ever the same. With fans moving to venues and seating themselves hours before they open, the concert is the attraction of an event that comprises of a temporary community in the parking space, complete with "Shakedown Street”.

The concert recordings are generally traded commodities. However, the official soundboard recordings can be bought through the Live Phish website. Though officially not permitted, the live videos of the band’s shows are also marketed by the lovers of the band and are taken into consideration as long as they are not for profit or personal use.  Phish have held 10 festivals; the first one was The Clifford Ball in the year 1996; the most recent was Magnaball in the year 2015. Each festival has managed to gather around 30,000 fans.
