Expansions is the major strategy followed by the players in the global ethoxylates market. Royal Dutch Shell Plc. (The Netherlands), is one of the leading ethoxylates manufacturers, globally. (Shell) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (China), have received permission to build an ethylene cracker and other derivative units, after receiving required government approvals. In September 2015, Shell announced the doubling of its production capacity of high-purity ethylene oxide and ethoxylates at its Jurong Island site (Singapore). This plant will have an ethoxylates production capacity of 140,000 tonnes per annum. These expansions will help in meeting the rising demand for ethoxylates in the Asia-Pacific region.

Clariant AG (Switzerland) is another major player in the ethoxylates market. The company is also focusing on expansions as a part of its strategic development activities.
