LED Strip Lights: The Four Best Uses

Posted by Heiwhite on July 29th, 2023

Home design can be made beautiful and functional through a combination of three types of lighting: ambient lighting, task lighting, and accent or decorative lighting. People need ambient light to move around their homes comfortably and safely. While task lighting is ideal for sight-intensive tasks such as sewing, reading, and food preparation, it can also prevent eye strain when performing sight-intensive tasks. The purpose of decorative lighting is to highlight attractive features and enhance a home's overall aesthetic appeal. Each of these needs is provided by different kinds of lighting.

LED strip lights are one of the most versatile lighting fixtures available for home use. The lights, which are made up of small LED bulbs connected to form a continuous strip, can provide all three kinds of lighting and can be used for just about anything. Sauna room led strip can be installed in the following places:

Kitchen cabinets - LED lights provide ample illumination to those hard-to-reach areas within the cabinet, so homeowners and regular kitchen users have no trouble finding the tools they need. In addition to lighting up the interiors of kitchen cabinets, LED strips can also be installed underneath the cabinets themselves; this is an elegant and stylish way to illuminate kitchen counters and spaces underneath the cabinets. The strips of lights under the cabinets aren't visible, but the light they provide not only brightens the room but also enhances its functionality.

Shelves and closets - Finding objects stored in dark shelves or closets can become extremely difficult. One simple way to solve this problem is to line shelves and closets with LED strips. Since LED strips are cheap and energy-efficient, they are a truly effective and cheap solution to a common problem in houses for a long time.

Cove ceiling - Cove ceilings are great architectural features that can make a room look more elegant. With LED lighting placed inside the cove, you can make the room instantly more appealing and transform the whole look. Adding blue LED strips to your entertainment room cove ceiling will give the room a cinematic vibe if you have a cove ceiling. It is also possible to add warmth to the illumination from elegant chandeliers or pendant lights by using warm white LED bulbs.

Bathroom mirrors - LED bulbs behind bathroom mirrors make a great accent piece. As well as providing good lighting, LED strips serve as a stylish and modern decoration when they are placed on top of a mirror and covered with a transparent pane.

LED Strip Lighting: How To Install It

The LED strip lighting is essentially a tape or ribbon with LEDs along its length. You can cut it at a specific point to the length you need. Due to its flexibility, the backing can be applied to curves as well as straight edges and can be concealed in display cases and recesses to provide subtle lighting.

The majority of LED strip lighting comes with double-sided adhesive tape on the back for easy attachment without messy adhesives. Here is a quick guide on how to install your own LED strip lighting.

1. The most important step of all - decide exactly where you want to place your LED lights for best effect. LED strips are easy to install, but you don't want to keep changing your mind after installation, as it could get messy. Connect up a short strip without actually putting it in place to see how the light falls.

2. Measure, measure, measure. The old saying 'measure twice, cut once' applies to LED strip lighting as well. The tape has marked points along it, so you can safely cut it. Depending on the cutting marks, work out the closest length that will fit the space if you are unable to get the exact length you have measured.

3. Always double check your measurements before cutting the ribbon into strips. Be sure to cut along the tape lines. Lay out the strips carefully to prevent getting different lengths. Click here

4. Make sure that the surface you mount the LED strips to is clean and dry. Peel off the vinyl backing from the adhesive strip. Press the strip firmly in place in its planned position.

5. Attach the strips to a power source, either an LED driver or a power cord. Turn the lights on!
