Watch brands using their own materials

We are all familiar with the most popular materials for making selling replica watches - steel, rose gold, titanium, and so on. But what about Rolesium, Ceragold, and Powerlite? Although many watch brands pride themselves on putting in their own movements, dials and other developments, few go further and put the extra effort into inventing their own materials, mostly for the watch case, but sometimes for parts as well. inside the mechanism. Many are investing in the development of new alloys in an attempt to make stronger, lighter and/or more scratch-resistant materials. Below are some brands that have come up with their own alloys by combining different metals.

One of these materials was developed by Rolex replica and is called Rolesium – a combination of 904L steel and 950 platinum. Rolesium was used in the 40mm Oyster case of the Rolex Yacht-Master model. Rolex also develops Cerachrom, which was used for example in the bezels of the Rolex Submariner model and the 50th Anniversary Rolex Cosmograph Daytona presented at Baselworld 2013. The Cerachrom material is an extremely strong, corrosion-resistant ceramic. Bezels made from it have engraved numbers and scales and are covered with a thin layer of platinum using the famous PVD (physical vapor deposition) technology.

The movement of the 50th Anniversary Rolex Cosmograph Daytona features a spring made of blue Parachrom – another Rolex exclusive material that is extraordinarily resistant to magnetic fields. Springs made of the Parachrom alloy, a combination of niobium, zirconium and oxygen, characteristically remain stable through temperature changes and are much less prone to shock, according to Rolex, 10 times more precise in the event of shock than traditional coil springs.

Japanese manufacturer Seiko spent five years developing a special alloy they call Spron 610 that has much greater impact resistance and magnetism than standard alloys. The new material is used for the springs of some of the Seiko movements, including the Caliber 9S86 used in the Seiko Hi-Beat 36,000 GMT model. The brand also developed another alloy, Spron 530, which enables the movement's spring to withstand a stronger torque, requiring a higher frequency to balance the movement and contributing to the watch's impressive 55-hour power reserve.

Omega spent years developing a material combining ceramic and 18 carat gold called Ceragold. The technique used to make the Ceragold allows the gold and ceramic to bond and is used to create ceramic bezels with gold numerals that are not embossed but smooth like the Omega Seamster Planet Ocean Ceragold model.

One of the distinguishing features of the Omega Constellation Sedna model is that the case is made of 18 carat Sedna gold, an alloy entirely developed by the Swatch Group (of which the Omega brand is a part). This alloy mixes gold, copper and palladium to produce what Omega says is an unusually long-lasting reddish hue. The alloy requires the use of a minimum gold content of 75%, along with the correct proportion of copper to produce a red color, while the palladium helps to make the material shine and make it last longer. "Sedna" is the name of a trans-Neptunian object - that is, a body in space that orbits the Sun at a higher average distance than the planet Neptune - whose surface is described as one of the reddest planets in the Solar System.

As part of its fusion philosophy, Hublot has developed several of its own materials. Among them are metal-ceramic, which mixes ceramic and metal, and Hublonium, an alloy composed of magnesium and aluminum. The brand also creates a tough, scratch-resistant gold alloy known as Magic Gold. It is made of 75% pure gold and is made by a process where gold is melted and fused with ceramic (which is porous and harder than gold), resulting in a harder gold.

Chanel adds to its line of J12 Chromatic Best Replica Watches a new ladies model made of a new, patented material called "beige gold". The 38mm case of the J12 Chromatic Beige Gold combines the new material with titanium ceramic, and inside the watch is equipped with an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
