Straight seam steel pipe is a welded steel pipe in which the weld seam is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the steel pipe. It is usually divided into metric electric welded steel pipe, electric welded thin-walled pipe, transformer cooling oil pipe and so on. Compared with the seamless pipe, the production process of the longitudinal welded pipe is simple, the production efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the development is rapid.

Generally speaking, small-diameter straight seam steel pipes (ERW pipes) are basically available from stock. Small-diameter steel pipes are easy to store and occupy a small area. They can also be stacked at high places, and the pressure is less. Therefore, large-diameter straight seam steel pipes above 630mm basically need to be custom-made, because the inventory occupies a lot of space and dare not be stacked too high, it is easy to collapse, and the cost of pressing is relatively high.

Generally, straight seam steel pipe plants stock existing steel plates or steel plates fixed by the steel plant, and the cycle may be longer. For example, the delivery time of 630*12mm normal existing steel plates is about 7-15 days. Even if the stock steel plates do not have all the wall thickness, they can only be fixed in the steel plant without inventory. In that way, the production cycle will be extended. The steel plant fixed steel plates will be delivered in about 15-25 days at the earliest, and it will take about 5 days to return to the plant for production, Therefore, it takes about 20-30 days for the general raw material steel factory to make the delivery.

Large diameter straight seam steel pipes are widely used in piling, bridges, supports and other projects. Generally, these projects will be scheduled or planned in advance to avoid the loss caused by the delay of construction period. However, there will be some projects that do not have a good plan and budget in advance. The failure of the steel pipes to arrive will lead to the delay of the project and the lack of work, which will cause economic losses. We can only find the manufacturer to make an urgent decision.

See if there are any existing plates in stock or with appropriate wall thickness, and strive for some time. If there are existing plates that can be delivered in 5 days after being expedited, the steel factory will deliver the expedited steel plates in 10-15 days as soon as possible, but the price will certainly be higher, because the raw materials also need to be paid for expediting. It is suggested that all orders should be planned early to avoid spending some unnecessary money.
