Different Types Of Recycling Bins?

To simmer down the stakeholders, American companies have now promised to use more of recycled materials, a very noble idea but hard to implement. Coca- Cola for instance committed to use a certain amount of recycled plastic by 2015 but somehow failed to achieve the goal. Walmart is doing a similar kind of effort to use its 3 billion pounds of plastics for packaging by 2020. The problem remains the same in both the cases - the problem of supply.

However as per the recent statistics the companies are now struggling with the increased processing costs. These larger bins that are not sorted become easily contaminated with garbage and inevitably increase the processing costs cutting down the profit margins.

Recycling is therefore of paramount importance today and the good reasons associated with it are numerous. It is proven by the studies that people who recycle waste instinctively reduce on buying unnecessary products, and think of disposing the packages before buying them. As a result a lot of money is saved.

The governing bodies all around the world now provide recycling bins in different colors based on the use. The sizes of the bins may vary from the very Slim Recycling Bins of80 liters to 660 liters. Following are the types of recycling bins available now a days-

  1. Blue recycle bin- They are used for disposing paper trash including newspaper, envelopes, cardboard boxes, magazines and brochures etc which exclude laminated papers, dirty papers, carbons paper.
  2. Brown recycle bin- They are used for disposing all kinds of tinted glass articles such as food containers, vitamin bottles, juice bottles, drinking bottles etc. They do not include mirrors, window screens, crystals, ceramics, lab items etc.
  3. Orange recycle bin- They are basically used for tins and all kinds of plastic materials and are a type of corrugated plastic recycling bins. They include aluminum tins and cans, food containers, and all kinds of bottles for storage excluding paint tins, toxic tins, lab tins etc.

The more contemporary ones are-

Red garbage bin- They are used for regular household wastes that don’t go into the organic bins. All kinds of plastic wastes, animal litter wrapped up, rags that don’t go into the Clothing Donation Bins, broken crockery wrapped up and even the bubble wrap goes into this trash.

  1. Yellow garbage bin- Paper and cardboard wastes, juice cartons, jars, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, rigid plastic containers are the kind of material that goes into this bin.
  2. Green garbage bin- This is specifically for the organic waste that includes food scraps, compostable nappies and bags, pruning and cuttings from the garden, lawn clips, weeds, leaves, litters, food soiled paper etc.

The most recent development in this field is by a New Zealand based entrepreneur who designed attractive recycling bins with a modern and a corporate look. These are clipped together and are color coordinated for different types of wastes. He proudly launched the product in 2015 and is still gaining a good response from the business communities.
