Creative Biostructure Provides Three Biophysical Characterization Methods

Posted by Thomas Hooper on July 28th, 2016

Creative Biostructure is a provider of membrane protein products and services. At here, we provide a variety of technologies to meet the requirements of each customer. No matter the structure of innovation, or the right strategy, our scientists can provide the best solution to help you get the job done.

Recently, they introduced three technologies: protein thermal shift assay, BIO-layer interferometry and saturation transfer differences.

Protein thermal shift assay(PTSA)

PTSA is a measure of protein thermal stability. The thermal stability of the protein varies with different conditions.
Methods for the determination of PTSA include reporter dyes (thermofluor, thiol-specific dyes CPM, rigidity sensitive dyes DCVJ), intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence lifetime, fluorescence wavelengths, static light scattering, Fast Parallel Proteolysis (FastPP), Cellular Thermal Shift Assay (CETSA), Fluorescence-detection Size-Exclusion Chromatography-based ThermoStability assay (FSEC-TS) and Radio ligand Binding Thermo stability Assay (RBTA).

PTSA can be used in a variety of fields, including drug discovery, protein engineering, structural genomics, protein purification / screening / storage / crystallization / identification / optimization, etc.

BIO-layer Interferometry

BIO-layer interferometry technology is a kind of sensor technology, which can be used to determine the interaction between different molecules, such as: protein and protein, protein and plasmid, etc. It is used in many areas of the medical industry, such as protein quantification, affinity assay, antibody / drug screening, antibody library screening, drug discovery and drug discovery.

Saturation transfer differences NMR

Standard nuclear magnetic resonance is a fast and powerful method, which is mainly used to study the interaction between protein and ligand and the signal of ligand. In addition, it can also provide the KD value, the study of the dynamics of the combination and dissociation.

In the process of drug development, the biophysical characterization of the protein can get a lot of meaningful information. However, due to the complexity of the protein, there is no single technology that can just finish the whole process. Creative Biostructrue provides a variety of biological technologies to meet different strategies.
