Montblanc Heritage Pythagore Small Second: historical caliber and colored dials

Montblanc has unveiled the elegant Heritage Pythagore Small Second watch, equipped with a new in-house caliber. The movement is inspired by the historic Minerva Pythagore 48 caliber, introduced in the 1940s.

The Minerva Pythagore 48 caliber was developed by replica watch engineer and at that time owner of the Minerva manufactory Andre Frey. When creating this mechanism, Frey arranged the bridges in a special way, using the mathematical proportions of the “golden ratio”. It is believed that the concept of proportions of the “golden section” was introduced by Pythagoras to achieve universal harmony and stable balance, so Frey named the caliber in honor of the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician.

The result of Frey's work was a mechanism with straight lines and geometric angles. Watch lovers liked this architecture. This is not the first time Montblanc has drawn on the heritage of the Minerva manufacture. This spring, the brand introduced the Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph watch in a Lime Gold case.

Taking the Minerva Pythagore 48 caliber as a basis, Montblanc engineers developed the new in-house caliber MB M14.08. This hand-wound movement operates at a frequency of 2.5 Hz (18,000 vibrations per hour). The hand-carved vertical Côtes de Genève pattern on the bridges highlights the geometric design. The power reserve is 80 hours.

Montblanc has released two Heritage Pythagore Small Second fake watches uk: one in rose gold with a burnt caramel dial, and one in white gold with a blue dial. In accordance with the tone of the dial, the company selected Sfumato alligator leather straps. The polished gold watch case with a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 9.5 mm guarantees water resistance of up to 50 meters.

The watch dial is protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal and is decoratively divided into three parts by a multi-texture finish. The dauphine hour and minute hands move along the sunburst centerpiece. The matte grained inner ring features applied Arabic numerals and dotted hour markers. The last outer lacquered part displays the minute markers, which alternate with the 24-hour display. The hands, numbers and markers are filled with Super-LumiNova luminescent coating.

The dial is complemented by a small seconds counter located at 6 o'clock. At 12 o'clock there is the historical Montblanc logo, and between 4 and 5 o'clock there is the "secret" Minerva signature.
