MoonSwatch: a lollipop hand in homage to the 1961 Speedmaster

Here we go again for a new full moon, and therefore a new MoonSwatch. This time it is a “lollipop” chrono hand which is highlighted, to pay homage to a Speedmaster released in 1961.

It was again and again on Instagram that Swatch warned its fans of the release in France on Saturday October 28 of a new version of the MoonSwatch Mission to Moonshine Gold. Here is a summary of previous special editions of MoonSwatch released on full moon evenings.

• MoonSwatch Strawberry Moon in July
• MoonSwatch “Swiss Lantern” in early August
• Mission to Neptune Moonshine Gold at the end of August
• MoonSwatch Harvest Moon at the end of September
• MoonSwatch lollipop at the end of October, as usual for just a few hours

The particularity of the new MoonSwatch is to display on its second hand (the chrono, not the seconds, remember) a “lollipop” hand (lollipop in French) equipped with a luminescent material.

Why such a choice ? It pays homage to the Omega Speedmaster CK 2998-3 FAP from 1961, the last Speedmaster bearing the reference 2998 and equipped with a lollipop-shaped second hand.

This fake watch is sold (almost) everywhere in the world, exclusively in physical stores. It will be found in six cities in France: the Swatch Stores in Le Chesnay, Bordeaux, Cannes, Lyon, Lille and Paris (Paris 6th).
