VENEZIANICO DEVELOPS ITS BUCINTORO CHRONOGRAPH

The Venezianico brand (formerly Meccaniche Veneziane) returns with a new edition of its Bucintoro chronograph. This name is that of the ship historically used by the Doge of Venice, the chief magistrate of the Republic of Venice until the end of the 17th century, to open the famous “Regata Storica” rowing competition. This Venetian festival still takes place every year in September. And in order to live up to this name, the brand based on the outskirts of the Serenissima has imagined a watch combining the utility of the chronograph with Italian elegance.

Venezianico is the union of two adjectives: “Veneziano”, which means “Venetian”, then the Latin suffix “ico”, which designates a way of being. This brand is above all the vision of two brothers: Alberto and Alessandro Morelli. Their project: to create automatic fake watches in homage to the city of Venice. In 2017, thanks to Kickstarter it was done. Since then, many models have emerged, and the one that interests us today is none other than the new version of the Bucintoro chronograph.

Let's start with the 316L steel case which goes from 40 to 42mm. In terms of finishing, it is very successful with a brushed/polished mixture which accentuates the shapes of the watch replicas uk. The crown at 6 o'clock is screwed down to guarantee water resistance to 100 meters then engraved and surrounded by a thick crown protector. The push buttons, respectively at 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock, are dedicated to the chronograph with a well-designed trapezoidal shape. Two dials are available on this new version, one panda (white background and black sub-dials) and the other inverted panda (black background and white sub-dials). Unlike the two previous models, this new Bucintoro displays three counters and in the process abandons its date window. The whole thing is topped with a black highlight equipped with a tachymeter scale.

This time, Venezianico decided to trust the Seiko manufacture to equip its Bucintoro with the NE88A caliber. A not insignificant choice because this automatic movement has a vertical column wheel making the repeated use of the chronograph buttons more pleasant and more precise. The so-called “Canova” steel bracelet is well made, made up of brushed links, polished in the middle, which are reminiscent of those of the Nautilus. The leather bracelets are available in gray or black, thick and stitched, then made in Italy.
