Speake Marin Openworked Sandblasted: Sandblasted in rose gold and titanium

In this respect, the two model variants of the One & Two Openworked, available in 38 and 42 mm, with a sandblasted dial make sense. They enrich the existing phalanx of openworked models with their typical Piccadilly cases made of titanium, gold or with DLC coating, completely open and semi-open dials as well as color variants in lime, pink or mint as well as technical variants with a second time zone or tourbillon with an interesting design element.

At this point, however, it is worth mentioning that the Picadilly cases no longer fully correspond to the early Speake Marin designs. Rather, the model series was carefully revised by industrial designer Eric Giroud in 2017, without the character of the design losing its identity, but this in no way harmed the modern English Watchmaker style of the fake watches.

These watches are now joined by the two new versions, each 10.5 mm high, in which the dial covers part of the open-design micro-rotor caliber SMA01. This is not without reason; on the one hand, the 2 new Sandblast models experience a visual calming effect due to the sandblasted, flat design, and on the other hand, the watches appear very valuable and distinguished due to the matt dials.

This effect is achieved through small changes. The sandblasted surface in particular ensures a calm, gentle shine on the countless dial, which is structured only by narrow indices, on which the gold-plated or, in the titanium version, black-polished hands stand out well.

At the same time, Speake Marin sticks to the flat design of the classic openworked models for the sandblasted models, except that the surface does not have any screws visible from the front and the small second at 1:30 is not contrasting in color, or in favor of a matt shine of the sandblasted surface on all surfaces Dial cut is omitted.

However, the skeletonized elements of the Speake Marin Openwork that are visible from the front remain unchanged. This is the barrel of the replica watch, visible from the front, at 6 o'clock. It is engraved with the terms “Respect, Liberté, Unique, Authenticité, Genève, Creativité, Modernité” and is intended to proclaim the guiding principles of the brand, which was founded in 2002 by Peter Speake-Marin and taken over by managing partner Christelle Rosnoblet in 2017.

The second eponymous element of the Speake Marin One & Two Openworked series is the design of the dial cutout at 9 o'clock. In addition to various gear trains, it shows the curved Speake Marin micro rotor as well as parts of the beautifully finished movement components. The other technical values of the 30 mm × 5 mm movement, which works at four Hz, are also impressive. The microrotor supplies the main spring described with energy for 52 hours of autonomy, i.e. just over 2 days.

This is made possible by the 171 components or 33 jewels of the in-house caliber SMA01, which is regulated according to the COSC standard and delivers an accuracy of -4 to +6 seconds per day. Thanks to the glass bottom, which is waterproof up to 30 meters, the sandblasted, beveled boards, the micro rotor and the balance wheel can be easily observed.
