Lucidcam stereoscopic consumer camera

A pioneering group of graduates from Berkeley and Stanford set out on a mission to bring Virtual Reality (VR) technology to the mass market by creating the world’s first 3D, 180-Degree stereoscopic consumer camera. LucidCam is a sleek hand-held device that easily captures video or images with true depth and peripheral sight. It leverages stereoscopy (3D imaging), a technique for enhancing the illusion of depth through binocular vision, to capture immersive images and videos. Viewing this content through a virtual reality headset, like the Oculus Rift or your mobile phone with a Google Cardboard, completes the immersive experience. You can also live stream with an HDMI out, and it has a battery that will let you record up to an hour’s worth of material. Flipping a switch will let you change from photo to video, and you can see the playback on a VR headset or your phone.
