Classification of Drill Pipes

1. Traditional Drill Pipes

Traditional drill pipes are the most common drill pipes in the drilling industry. They use a tapered thread connection method and are suitable for underground drilling, drilling and consolidating soil.

2. Square handle drill pipes

Square handle drill pipes are a special type of drill pipe that uses a quadrilateral tapered thread connection method and are usually used in measuring wells, directional drilling and hydrogeological surveys.

3. Column drill pipes

Column drill pipes are drill pipes with inner and outer tube structures, and the inner and outer tubes are connected by a sealed joint. It is commonly used in drilling natural gas fields such as coalbed methane and shale gas.

4. Drill collars

Drill collars are a type of drilling tool composed of a drill pipe and a feed collar. Its function is to relieve pressure and stick-slip on the borehole to reduce drill pipe wear and increase drilling efficiency.

5. Drill tool assembly

Drill tool assembly is a drilling equipment that assembles various types of drill pipes, drill bits, fixing and pressure relief devices, drill tool connectors, etc., to meet the complex needs of drilling.

6. Bellows Drill Pipes

The bellows drill pipes are a tough drill pipe similar to a leather-wrapped pipe. Its advantages are high strength, good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and it is suitable for rock drilling and underground drilling.

In general, drilling drill pipes are diverse in form and widely used. When selecting drilling tools, it is necessary to make a reasonable and scientific design based on the specific drilling needs and geological conditions to ensure that drilling can proceed smoothly.
